About

City Palace

A magnificent palace complex blending Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, City Palace remains the residence of Jaipur's royal family while serving as a museum showcasing royal artifacts.

Built between 1729–1732 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the City Palace complex occupies one-seventh of the old walled city. Expanded by successive rulers, the current Maharaja still resides in part of the palace — making it one of the few active royal residences open to visitors in India.
