About
Jal Mahal
A stunning five-story palace seemingly floating in the middle of Man Sagar Lake, Jal Mahal is one of Jaipur's most romantic and photogenic landmarks.
Built in the 18th century by Maharaja Madho Singh I, Jal Mahal was designed as a hunting lodge and summer retreat for the royal family. Four stories remain submerged underwater when the lake is full, with only the top floor visible — making it appear to float magically on the surface.
