About

Nahargarh Fort

Perched on the edge of the Aravalli Hills, Nahargarh Fort offers panoramic 360° views of Jaipur city and is famous for its stunning sunset vistas and Indo-European architecture.

Built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II as part of Jaipur's defense ring alongside Amber and Jaigarh, Nahargarh never witnessed a battle but served as a royal retreat. The name means 'abode of tigers'. Extended in 1868 by Sawai Ram Singh, it features nine identical suites for the king's queens.
